Membrane Filter, 47 mm dia, Polyethersulfone, 0.8 µm Pore Size, Circle Format, Hydrophilic, Low Protein Binding, For aqueous applications, Biological Samples, Especially in Alkaline pH
Whatman™ polyethersulfone (PES) membrane filters from GE Healthcare's Life Sciences business are hydrophilic and stable in alkaline pH, making them suitable for biological samples and aqueous applications. Tissue culture applications often require a sterile membrane that exhibits low protein binding, which allows for an approximation of in-vivo conditions under which the cells would normally be found. Low protein binding PES membranes with low levels of extractable are appropriate for tissue culture applications after they are sterilized. GE's PES membrane filters provide a smooth membrane to retain and enumerate microorganisms on the filter surface. The white surface allows easy counting of dark bacteria and artifacts in a variety of microbiology studies.
