  • 1. First rinse them with an organic solvent like acetone or ethanol. This is to get rid of any organic residue.
  • 2. Throw away the rinse -- it goes into your organic waste.
  • 3. Then scrub the inside with warm soapy water and a brush. This water is okay to go down the sink.
  • 4. Rinse off the soap with deionized water to avoid those pesky water stains. And if your glass isn't gleaming by now, give it another scrub.
  • 5. Lastly, a rinse with acetone should speed up drying. The leftover acetone? It goes with your organic waste, too.
