BD Bacto™ Casamino Acids is an animal-origin, acid hydrolysis of casein. This supplement contains low salt and iron content making it an excellent supplement for media formulations where nitrogen requirements are minimal. This supplement is successfully used in fermentation applications for Pneumococcal, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus and Zoster vaccines. It maintains many of the nutritional benefits of hydrolyzed casein, but is further supplemented with growth factors, cystine, maltose and an optimum amount of iron and inorganic salts. Customers have used BD Bacto™ Casamino Acids to support the growth of Bordetella, Corynebacterium, Pseudomonas, Haemophilus and Escherichia species. Additionally, together with BD Bacto™ Yeast Extract, Technical, customers have used this supplement to successfully in the production of animal and human health vaccines.
